25.4: Custom Session Note AI Summary and Custom Form Builder

Release Recap 

The 25.4 release brings major improvements to the Custom Session Note and the Custom Form Builder. Users can now use AI to summarize Custom Session Notes, a feature previously available for standard session notes only.  The Custom Form Builder has better navigation, clearer labels, and more flexible options for organizing and summarizing fields. 

Progress Note Naming Update 

• The term “Progress Note” has been replaced with “Session Note” across the platform to reflect current terminology standards. This includes renaming standard, custom, and group progress notes throughout CR Essentials.

Custom Session Note AI Summary

Users can now generate session summaries with AI for custom session notes. 

• Users can include custom fields in the AI summary by selecting “Include in Summary” when creating or editing a custom session note.
• The new custom session note modal features three tabs for data entry, prompt review, and AI summary confirmation.
  • Users must review and accept the AI-generated summary before signing.

Custom Form Builder Updates

The Custom Form Builder has a more streamlined experience with better form management, flexibility, and clearer AI summary options. 

• The Custom Forms table now uses "Type of Form" instead of "Visibility Source" for improved clarity. 
  • Users can view individual custom forms by clicking on their titles.
  • The label “Visibility in CR Essentials” has been replaced with “Type of Form.” 
• Custom forms are now only created when users click Save, replacing the previous auto-creation process.
• The names of the two custom form types have been updated for improved clarity. 
  • Progress Note (Calendar) is now Session Note 
  • Client Other Document is now Client Document 
• The previous Title and Type fields for session notes have been consolidated into a single Title field. 
  • All existing custom session notes have been renamed to align with this new format. 
• Users can drag and drop any custom and smart fields before or after the “Session Note Data Collection Block” within the custom form builder. This update allows for improved flow of custom fields and smart fields in relation to the data collection and also ensures more accurate AI summaries.
• Users can now select the “Include in Summary” checkbox to add custom fields to the AI summary. This update gives users more control over AI summary context and improves prompt effectiveness by allowing greater flexibility in form outputs.

• Other Custom Form Builder updates include: 
  • Updated header titles dependent on mode 
  • Fields Tab renamed to Add Fields  
  • Format Fields renamed to Edit Fields 
• Archived custom forms have been removed from the custom forms page and are now available on the Archives page.
