How To Record ABC Data


  • Navigate to a Client's Analyst Note or Progress Note
  • Below the last skill data selection section, you will see the ABC records section

  • + Add ABC Record allows you to record a new ABC
    • A timestamp will appear in the Time row, which you can edit by either
      • typing in the time values
      • clicking on the clock icon and using the dropdown
    • For Antecedent, Behavior, and Consequence, you can either
      • select a dropdown value
        • These dropdown options come from the Default table described above
      • type in a new value
        • What you type will be saved to the User Added table described above
      • The record will not save unless you have values for Antecedent, Behavior, and Consequence,

  • You can edit any existing ABC record by selecting the appropriate time or Antecedent, Behavior, and Consequence

  • You can delete any existing ABC record by hitting the remove button
    • The selected ABC record will be highlighted in red and will be removed the next time you save the progress note/analyst note

  • You can add comments about the ABC records by typing in the ABC comments block
    • These comments apply to every ABC record in the progress note/analyst note


How to View and Update the Default ABC record values for your practice


  • Navigate to Settings -> Behavior Analysis -> ABC Record Options

  • + Add ABC Record Option allows you to create a new ABC Record Option
    • Select whether your entry will be an Antecedent, Behavior, or Consequence
    • Type the name of the value
    • After creation, the entry will appear in the Default table

  • The Default table contains the dropdown values you can select when recording ABC data with a client
    • The order of the table is Type: Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence, and within each Type, alphabetically by name
    • Note the pagination option at the top right to see more table values
    • Each practice has been assigned default ABC Record Options
    • You can edit and archive an ABC Record Option
      • Note that editing a ABC Record Option will also edit every instance it has been used in recording client clinical data, including past client clinical data. Proceed with caution.
    • You can Remove From Default an ABC Record Option, which means it will no longer be available as a dropdown value you can select when recording ABC data with a client. It will be on the User Added table.


  • The User Added table contains ABC values a user has manually entered when recording ABC data with a client
      • The order of the table is Type: Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence and within each Type, alphabetically by name
      • You can edit and archive an ABC Record Option
      • You can Move To Default an ABC Record Option, which means it will now be available as a dropdown value you can select when recording ABC data with a client. It will be on the Default table.
